Malta Degree
The Malta Degree is conferred on Candidates who have already been Installed as Knights Templar. On becoming a Knight of Malta, candidates are in fact participating in a ceremony comprising of two separate parts, that of becoming a Knight of St. Paul, or the Mediterranean Pass, and then that of becoming a full Knight of St. John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta.

Knights of St Paul
This is a short passing degree conferred in a room adjoining a Priory of Malta in the course of which the Mediterranean Pass is communicated. The candidate learns of the travels of St. Paul and how he arrived on the Island of Malta.
Knights of Malta
Meetings are held in a Priory and are presided over by a Prior. The degree is linked with the period when the Knights travelled from Palestine to reach their final home in Malta. Each ceremony is both intriguing and stimulating.
Although some Knights wear their Temple regalia at Malta meetings, the majority present wear the distinctive regalia of a Knight of Malta. This regalia comprises of some of the regalia for K.T. however, the cap is made of black material and there is a different cap badge. The tunic is red with a white cross on it whilst the mantle is black with a white Maltese cross, hood lining and tassles. A Malta jewel completes the regalia of a Knight of Malta.
In the gallery section of our website are a number of photographs of Knights wearing Knights Templar and Knights of Malta regalia.
